Momentum ITSMA
Momentum ITSMA specialise in empowering ambitious companies to achieve market-beating performance by winning, growing and retaining the most valuable client relationships. Their dynamic work environment thrives on innovation and collaboration, offering ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.
We previously worked with Momentum on their HR strategy, following which the Head of People and Culture approached us to help her recruit a Senior People Advisor for her team.

How People Business assisted Momentum ITSMA
We took a bespoke, end-to-end approach to the project, tailoring our service according to the needs of our client.
We worked directly on our client’s Applicant Tracker System (Team Tailor) which enabled quick and direct access to candidates and client; the ability to benefit from our client’s own branded site (from the candidates’ perspective this is important); and efficient management of candidates’ applications throughout the process.
We liaised closely and pro-actively with Momentum ITSMA to ensure that the position was filled quickly and successfully – they were in the enviable position of having four very strong candidates to choose from at final stage. They offered the role to one of these candidates following an in-person final interview at Momentum’s office, and the candidate accepted.
What did People Business add to the recruitment process?
- Lived experience and in depth knowledge of the HR sector and the roles within it.
- Expert drafting of job description, advert, screening criteria and interview questions.
- Innovative suggestions for best methods to access qualified and suitable candidates.
- Conducting in depth, competency based first round interviews, providing detailed feedback to the client and leading to a high quality short-list. Thus taking the pressure off client of having to interview a long-list at first round.
- Creating and running an interactive, bespoke case study task for second round interviews to interrogate a key area of HR competence – employee relations skills/employment law knowledge.
- Using our consultancy skills to quickly build a strong working rapport with the client to make the project enjoyable and positive for all.
- Being a ‘critical friend’ – able to relate to the client closely as a fellow HR colleague and yet have the benefit of being able to provide a fresh, external perspective.
- Understanding from working as in house recruiters the importance of KPI’s for this type of project.
- Ability to relate to candidates and quickly build rapport with them based on our own experience as HR professionals who have been through recruitment for HR roles ourselves.
- Running a ‘best practice’ process as standard – due to our CIPD training and depth of experience in recruitment and HR.
- Although not utilised in this case study, we can also offer psychometric testing which further helps to analyse candidates’ suitability for culture/team/role fit.
What the client said
“We had an amazing outcome, so happy with the process and the added bonus is that you were fab to work with! It really helped to go through the process with other HR professionals, which was really key for me. It really took the pressure off when I was being pulled into other work, and I was confident in your assessment of who would be a good fit for final round. Would highly recommend and do it again in a heartbeat.”
