Our client is a leading independent development consultancy which was established over 20 years ago. Based in the UK they have 400 employees and are spread across the country in several offices.

The services they offer have expanded from planning, to design, to environmental consultancy advice, evolving to economics, heritage expertise, transport and infrastructure and finally land and property. Their expertise spans the entire development process.

This consultancy approached People Business at a time when they were seeking alignment on strategic priorities. Consensus was required among their 24 shareholder-directors so that agreements could be put in place on strategic themes for their future. It was decided that bringing in a third party to facilitate, such as People Business, would be a sensible and productive approach. People Business was recommended to our client via a mutual connection. And so work began…

How People Business assisted our client

People Business assisted by co-creating the meeting agenda with their CEO to ensure that the event was interactive, challenging and engaging for the participants. In addition, prior to the meeting, we arranged separate 1-2-1 calls with all the shareholders to understand their priorities and ambitions for the meeting so that on the day everyone was well-prepared and had taken time to consider the main areas where agreement and consensus were required.

By the end of the meeting, with guidance and facilitation from People Business, the group found alignment in their opinions and were able to forge a path ahead with their new structure.
