We understand that people working in PE are a demanding audience, normally super bright, capable people who want to be supported with clear thinking and really good best practice where they can see the logic of your suggestions.

We work extensively on the development of investors, helping them to originate, engage more effectively with management teams, lead boards, persuade clients to invest, hire and manage management teams. We also support clients who use search firms to assess investors from analysts through to Partner.

People development programmes we offer PE firms

We know that classroom-based learning is not a good substitute for on-the-job learning and so our aim, as much as is possible, is to bring the reality of work challenges into the training room creating intellectually stimulating simulations where participants can practice in a safe environment but more importantly hone their skills.

  • Deal sourcing: Including identifying common themes of previous successes in originating deals, reviewing of team structure and activities and benchmarking other PE firms.

  • Managing the CEO: Three workshops exploring the challenges of working with management teams, building effective partnerships and handling difficult CEOs.

  • Being an effective Board representative: These workshops explore the dynamics of board meeting and the investor role and addressing board challenges.

  • Winning deals through good conversations: This communications skills course includes rapport building, persuading and influencing, objection handling and more.

  • Hiring effectively: Ranging from two-hour best practice tips sessions to much longer half- and full-day simulations using role players. In our view hiring from an already very talented pool demands better hiring and assessment skills as there are very few poor candidates.

  • Management assessment training (for investors): This participative workshop provides a framework for assessing management teams that is accessible for investors that can be articulated easily in a standard IC paper.

  • Coaching and mentoring: We offer a wide range of coaching services including 1-2-1 and small group workshops.
